Richard Gere lauds PM Modi as he attends yoga event at UN Headquarters: 'it's a very nice feeling'

Hollywood star Richard Gere attended the Prime Minister Narendra Modi-led Yoga event at UN Headquarters in New York on June 21 along with several others.

Ahead of the event, he spoke with news agency ANI and called PM Modi 'a product of Indian culture'.

Gere said, 'He (PM Modi) is a product of Indian culture and comes from a vast place as Indian culture does. This sense of universal brotherhood and sisterhood is the message we want to hear again and again.' 

Richard Gere could be seen following instructions as he practiced some asanas at the lawns of UN Headquarters.

There are photos of Gere hugging PM Modi at the event as well.

As per PTI, the event created a Guinness World Record for participation of people of most nationalities in a yoga session.
