Los Angeles, Aug 27 (PTI) – American streaming service Hulu has announced the renewal of its critically-acclaimed comedy series "Deli Boys" for a second season.
The show features actors Asif Ali, Saagar Shaikh, and Poorna Jagannathan, portraying two Pakistani-American brothers who find themselves losing everything following their millionaire father's passing.
As they navigate the aftermath, the brothers must confront their father's hidden life of crime while attempting to step into his underworld legacy. Jagannathan plays a significant role as their father's trusted confidante.
The upcoming season will introduce "Wednesday" actor Fred Armisen as a series regular. Armisen's character is described as a legendary gambling savant with an exceptional talent for reading people as if they were cards.
His casino empire spans across the globe, with a prized establishment located in Philadelphia. The character is uniquely brilliant yet dangerously unstable — traits that make him a formidable adversary.
"Deli Boys" is the creation of Abdullah Saeed and developed by Jenni Konner and Nora Silver under Jenni Konner Productions.
Michelle Nader, who led the show's first season as showrunner, will return to serve as the showrunner and executive producer alongside Saeed, Konner, and Silver.
The series comes from Onyx Collective and is produced by 20th Television.
