‘Neeyat’ will mark Vidya Balan's long-awaited return to the cinemas after four years. Her last theatrical release was the 2019 film ‘Mission Mangal’.
At a recent promotional event, the actor talked about her forthcoming film and how she prepped for her role in the movie.
Vidya said she is excited about her comeback film. She said for the role she worked remotely with the director and did a lot of Zoom sessions to understand her character better. Vidya said she loved the genre of ‘Neeyat’.
‘Neeyat’ is a murder mystery directed by Anu Menon. The film will release in theatres on July 7.
‘Neeyat’ also stars Ram Kapoor, Rahul Bose, Neeraj Kabi, Shahana Goswami, Amrita Puri, Dipannita Sharma, Niki Walia, Shashank Arora, Prajakta Koli and Danesh Razvi.
Vidya stars as a detective in the film.
Previously, Vidya played a desi detective in ‘Bobby Jasoos’ (2014) which failed at the box office. She was also seen in different avatars investigating scenes in films like Sujoy Ghosh's 2012 film ‘Kahaani’, Ribhu Dasgupta's ‘Te3n’ (2014), and Amit V Masurkar's 2021 forest thriller ‘Sherni’.
Vidya Balan previously collaborated with Anu Menon on ‘Shakuntala Devi’, a biopic of the mathematics icon.
