Her grandfather, the legendary actor Raj Kapoor named her Siddhima. But her mother Babita later changed it to Kareena borrowing inspiration from Leo Tolstoy’s 'Anna Karenina'.

She has turned down some iconic Hindi films
Kareena turned down many blockbusters like ‘Kaho na…Pyaar hai’ (2000), ‘Kal Ho Naa Ho’ (2003) and ‘Queen’ (2014). Keeping that aside, she still has an impressive filmography

Kareena was a playback singer for one of the songs from her film 'Dev' (2002), titled 'Jab Nahi Aaye'.

Fell in love with Saif while shooting ‘Tashan’
Even though Kareena worked with Saif on several projects such as ‘LOC: Kargil’ (2003) and ‘Omkara’ (2006), she fell in love with the actor only on the sets of ‘Tashan’ (2008). The couple was in a live-in relationship for 5 long years before tying the knot in 2012.

She's a nail-bitter
After achieving so much in the industry, she still holds an unhealthy habit. Kareena is a compulsive nail bitter since childhood. She hasn’t been able to get rid of this habit till today.

Acting was not her first career choice
Kareena pursued a commerce degree at Mithibai College, Mumbai. She later took up law and also applied for a three-month microcomputers course at Harvard University. However, in the end, she settled on acting as her career.
