Los Angeles, Aug 7 (PTI) – “Parks and Recreation” and “The White Lotus” actress Aubrey Plaza is set to take on the role of infamous criminal Heidi Fleiss in a forthcoming biographical drama film. According to Deadline, the movie is called “The Heidi Fleiss Story” and will serve as the directorial debut for Leah Rachel, who is notably recognized for creating the Netflix series "Chambers". Plaza will portray Fleiss, who gained significant media attention in the early 1990s after being revealed as the operator of what was reportedly the world's largest high-end prostitution ring, allegedly involving Hollywood elites, politicians, and other influential figures. The script, crafted by actor Rachel Sennott in collaboration with Rachel and Travis Jackson, centers on Fleiss before her trial as she maneuvers through Los Angeles, attempting to blackmail and exert influence on various connections to have the case dismissed. She does this with the assistance of an aspiring young writer named Jaclyn. The biopic will be co-produced by the independent production company Pinky Promise, known for previous works like Gia Coppola’s “The Last Showgirl” and Andrea Arnold’s “Bird”. Plaza will also take on a production role through her own company, Evil Hag. Up next for Plaza is a role in Ethan Coen's “Honey Don’t” alongside Chris Evans and Margaret Qualley. Additionally, she will appear in Legendary and Warner Bros' “Animal Friends” and “The Accompanist” with Susan Sarandon.
