Though their anti-racism gesture of taking a knee before a warm-up game against Austria was booed by their own fans, England football team have decided to continue doing that at the European Championship.
England head coach Gareth Southgate said that they feel more than ever determined to take the knee through this tournament. They also accept that there might be an adverse reaction which they will ignore and move forward.
Players started taking a knee last year as part of calls to eradicate racial injustice in society following the police killing of George Floyd in Minneapolis.
