Engineer sets record for 'collecting bank notes from maximum nations'

Annamalai Rajendran, a Chennai-based engineer has entered the Asia Book of Records and the India Book of Records for 'collection of bank notes from maximum nations'.

Rajendran has a collection of currency notes from 410 nations including some that are very rare. His collection includes world's first glow in the dark coin, ancient coins from the Chola Empire to the Roman Empire and world's first Gold Legal tender banknote from Antigua and Barbuda among others.

Rajendran collected most of his banknotes from auctions and friends. He recently exhibited his collection and the currencies displayed were from the 17th to the 21st century.
