Election Commission of India (ECI) ruled out an attack on West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee in Nandigram, news agency ANI reported. The ECI decision was based on a report by state's Observers and Chief Secretary, Vivek Dubey and Ajay Nayak. In their report, Dubey and Nayak dismissed the possibility that the injury was the result of an attack. The chief minister was in the midst of heavy police cover when the incident occurred, the special observers asserted. Banerjee had claimed that she fell down and sustained injuries on her left leg and waist after being allegedly pushed by unidentified people while she was campaigning in Nandigram.
