Egyptian artist Hany Genedy is spelling magic on his canvases with an unusual substance, salt. Before settling on salt, he tried materials like leaves and money to create his masterpieces, but says he was blown away by the versatility and affordability of salt.
Genedy makes images of landmarks along with Egyptian and international celebrities and claims he is one among a handful of artists across the world using salt as a tool for his art.
The 24-year-old has a variety of salt colours at his home studio in the Nile Delta province of Sharqia and says he's developed a secret to fix the images. Genedy hopes his salt art will grant him international recognition!
