The Israeli Ambassador to India, Naor Gilon has expressed grave concerns over the aftermath of the October 7 terror attack, emphasising the unprecedented nature of the violence. According to him, terrorists brutally targeted and victimised over 1400 people, including children, with many individuals still unaccounted for. Only half of the victims have been located and buried, leaving a lingering trauma from the attack.

In response to these events, reports indicate that approximately 7,000 lives were lost in Israeli bombing in Gaza. The Israeli Ambassador underscores that their military actions target Hamas and not Gazans, accusing Hamas of using civilians as human shields.

Israel is prepared to undertake a ground operation in Gaza to protect its own citizens and those in the region.

Regarding the possibility of a ceasefire in Gaza, the Ambassador highlights a misunderstanding of Israel's situation globally.

Israel had hoped for improved ties with Hamas but expresses concerns about the rise of ISIS if Hamas persists.
