London marathon made a big step in the sustainable direction at its latest edition. Edible water bottles were handed out to marathoners in place of plastic ones in a bid to reduce plastic waste. Developed by London-based startup Skipping Rocks Lab, the water pouches were made using a thin natural seaweed membrane. While the capsule's cover can be swallowed, runners can also throw them, as the pouch biodegrades within six weeks.
