The government is considering a mechanism to do away with the requirement of an RT-PCR report to ease domestic travel for those who have taken both doses of the vaccine.
Civil aviation minister, Hardeep Singh Puri said that the discussion on the issue is underway among representatives of different ministries and other stakeholders.
He however added that ‘health is a state subject, and to ask passengers for a negative RT-PCR is solely the right of that particular state’.
A number of states, particularly the ones having higher caseload, require fliers to carry negative RT-PCR reports.
