Delhi is all set to get its first public crematorium for dogs, after the project recently received approval from the SDMC.

The public-private partnership project will be spread over 700 sqm in Dwarka and will offer provisions of a priest to perform rituals and ashes stored for up to 15 days.

The crematorium, for both dogs and cats, can be accessed by people across the city, an official said. Street dogs will be cremated free of cost at the facility but if someone brings an expired stray dog or cat from areas that fall under East or North corporation, they will have to pay Rs 500, a PTI report confirmed.
