A six-year-old girl was allegedly sexually assaulted by her neighbour in the Trilokpuri area of Delhi on Wednesday.
The girl suffered severe injuries and is under treatment at All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS).
According to the police, the suspect was arrested later in the day and a case has been registered at the Mayur Vihar police station on the basis of the family's complaint.

The incident comes on the heels of a similar case in Nangal village in Delhi Cantonment area that triggered outrage earlier this month.
A nine-year-old girl was murdered and forcibly cremated by four people in Nangal village. In their statements to the police, family members of the minor accused the four men of sexual assault.
