'Deeply hurt' says Uma Bharti after slippers remark for bureaucrats

Senior BJP leader Uma Bharti invited criticism after her controversial remarks that government officials are there only to ‘pick up our (leaders') slippers’

Congress veteran Digvijaya Singh criticised Bharti when her critical comments against the bureaucracy surfaced on social media. Singh said she asked him to speak less, while she herself used "highly objectionable" words against bureaucrats. He has also sought an apology from her over her comments.

Uma Bharti wrote to Singh saying that she will improve her language and also urged him to do so.

The Former Union Minister expressed regret over for her choice of words  during an interaction with a delegation of representatives from other backward classes (OBCs) at her home in Bhopal.
