'Chhapaak' starring Deepika Padukone in the lead has received a 'U' certificate and has been cleared by the Central Board of Film Certification with no cuts. Filmmaker Meghna Gulzar who is directing the film said that getting a U certificate is an 'immense validation' especially for a film like 'Chhapaak' which could have been perceived as 'difficult and graphic' due to its storyline. Based on the life of acid attack survivor Laxmi Agarwal, 'Chhapaak' is slated to release on January 10, 2020.
