Days after deadly clashes at the Assam-Mizoram border which left 6 Assam cops dead and dozens injured, the state govt has asked its citizen not to travel to Mizoram.

The first-of-its-kind travel advisory by one state govt against the another stated: "Even after this incident, certain Mizo civil society, students and youth organisations are constantly issuing provocative statements against the state of Assam and its people".
It also claimed it had been reliably learnt from video footage available with Assam police, that many Mizoram civilians remain deployed armed with automatic weapons at the border.

In view of all this, the state government said, the people of Assam are advised not to travel to Mizoram and those staying in Mizoram on work-related compulsions, "should exercise utmost caution".
Earlier on Thursday, Cachar Guardian Minister Ashok Singhal alleged that while Assam has withdrawn its police forces from the border after the central government ordered deployment of CRPF personnel at the Assam-Mizoram border, Aizwal was yet to do so.
He, claimed Mizoram wanted to settle the dispute “by arms and ammunitions”, which is the “wrong approach”.
A defiant Mizoram government, meanwhile, countered stating a large contingent of Assam Police personnel was being mobilised at the interstate border.
