Dal Lake froze partially as temperature dipped in Srinagar

The mercury dipped in Srinagar, recording the coldest night in 11 years at -6.8 degree celsius. As a result, the world famous Dal Lake and other water bodies partially froze. Kashmir is currently in the 'chillai-kalan' period, the 40-days of harshest winter. Tourists and residents battled with the cold wave that engulfed the region.
