Cricketer Krunal Pandya tests positive for Covid-19 in Sri Lanka

Indian cricketer Krunal Pandya who is currently part of the team in Sri Lanka has tested positive for Covid-19. The left-arm spinner was part of the team that played the 1st T20 on Sunday and was in close contact with 8 other players of the team.

As a result, both teams have gone into isolation and the 2nd T20 has been postponed. If all players test negative, the 2nd match of the 3-game T20 series will be played on Wednesday. According to ESPNCricinfo, this incident will have a direct impact on the departure of Prithvi Shaw, Suryakumar Yadav who were set to depart for England on Tuesday from Colombo.

This isn't the first Covid-19 outbreak in this series as the Sri Lankan team was earlier jolted by multiple cases before the start of this series upon their return from England.
