CPI inflation touches 8-month high at 7.34% in Sept

The retail inflation rose to an eight-month high of 7.34% in September due to rising food prices. The Consumer Price Index-based inflation was 6.69% in August and 3.99% in September 2019.

The inflation in the vegetable segment was 20.73% in September, significantly up from 11.41% in the preceding month. Similarly, meat, fish, egg, oil, pulses, and spices posted double-digit inflation.
