One of the world's largest and most famous cattle fairs, the Pushkar Mela is unlikely to be held this year, says Rajasthan Tourism Department officials.
The nine-day event, which hosts trading of thousands of camels and horses, was scheduled to begin from November 22 this year but will most likely be cancelled due to Covid-19 pandemic.
Without confirming the cancellation, an official told IANS, 'the advisory limits the gathering of people to 100 in any event and it will be difficult to limit the number of people coming in from different villages if the fair is organised.'
