Covid-19 crisis: Women offer prayers to 'Corona Mai' in UP villages

In a new bizarre attempt to fight the coronavirus pandemic, women in villages of East Uttar Pradesh are worshipping 'Corona Mai', reports said on Sunday


Women in Varanasi and Kushinagar started worshipping 'Corona Mai' in order to contain her wrath and save people from dying.


Reports said in Varanasi, women were flocking in groups on the Ghats to offer prayers and calm the 'Corona Mai'.

A woman in Kushinagar said that they would come together in groups for 21 days to appease the Corona Mai and were confident that the pandemic would end.


Women gathered in high numbers were seen flouting Covid norms and not maintain social distancing.
