The novel coronavirus is definitely mellowing the festive spirits this year. After restrictions on Durga Puja, Navrati and Diwali, Delhi government has issued order to the Delhi Police to ensure that no outdoor celebration for Chhath puja is allowed. This year the four-day festival shall not be allowed at public places or river banks or temples in the national capital.
Chhath Puja, celebrated to thank the solar deity, is hugely celebrated in Delhi with hundreds with roots in UP and Bihar flocking the river banks to pray. Last year, Delhi government had made arrangements at 1,108 ghats for festival.
