A controversy has erupted after Gujarati folk singer Geeta Rabari received her Covid-19 vaccine jab at home, prompting the administration to issue a show-cause notice to a woman health worker.

Rabari, who performed at the Trump event in Ahmedabad, had posted the picture of receiving the jab from a nurse at her home in Kutch but it has now been removed.

A complaint was filed with the district administration based on this picture alleging preferential treatment to the singer at a time when lakhs of people aren't getting slots at vaccination centres or are being sent back due to lack of doses.

Recently, cricketer Kuldeep Yadav too was criticised after he was administered the vaccine at home in Kanpur even though he had booked a slot at a health centre. The district magistrate has ordered an inquiry.
