Conscious Nashik man guards Godavari to stop people from polluting it

Meet Chandra Kishore Patil, the man who stands beside Godavari with a whistle in hand to prevent people from throwing plastic waste into the river.

IFS Officer Swetha Boddu took to Twitter to share photos of the man from Indiranagar, Nashik and the post has garnered a whole lot of praise on social media.

Speaking to the Hindustan Times, Patil said he has been doing this daily for the last five years, from morning till 11 pm at night. Living in a nearby society, he saw the water turn filthier each passing year and decided to do something to protect the river.
