The BJP on Sunday alleged that a party worker, Gopal Majumdar, and his 85-year-old mother were beaten up by TMC goons in Bengal’s North 24 Parganas district.
The BJP Twitter handle posted a photo of the woman with a swollen face saying 'people of Bengal will not forgive those who assaulted Bengal's daughter’.
While the elderly woman alleged she was thrashed by miscreants, as her son works for BJP, her grandson refuted her claims and said no one had beaten her.
In a video posted on Twitter by the official Trinamool Congress handle, he was heard saying that his grandmother has been bedridden for the last three years and the TMC had nothing to do with the incident.
Citing the lady's grandson, TMC leader Subrata Mukherjee said 'there is no allegation against TMC'. The matter is currently under investigation.
