Communal tensions erupted in Baran, Rajasthan on Sunday. Dozens of vehicles and shops were torched and vandalised by mobs following the stabbing of two youths.
Police used tear gas to disperse the violent mob but members of two communities, armed with sticks, iron rods and weapons, continued the rampage late in the evening.
As per reports, incidents of stone-pelting took place during the violence. The power supply was cut off to avoid further damage.
The authorities were forced to impose a curfew. Internet services in the area have been suspended till 4 pm on April 13.
