Human rights group International Rights Advocates has launched legal action accusing the world's biggest chocolate companies of using children as slave labour.
The lawsuit which names Nestlé, Cargill, Mars, Hershey, Mondelēz among the defendants accused the companies of "benefit by continuing to profit from selling cheap cocoa harvested by child slaves, including the eight plaintiffs who filed this case."
The petition is on behalf of eight former child labours who were forced to work without pay on cocoa plantations in the West African country.
