A Chinese national apprehended while trying to cross the India-Bangladesh border illegally has told the investigators that he and his associates have smuggled as many as 1,300 Indian SIM cards into their country by hiding them in undergarments, the BSF said on Friday.
35-year-old Han Junwe, a resident of China's Hubei province, was nabbed by a BSF patrol party from the Malda district of West Bengal on Thursday and then handed over to the police for "further legal proceedings".
The BSF said that Junwe is a wanted criminal who has a Blue Notice issued against him by the Interpol. He used the SIM cards to hack bank account and carry out financial fraud, BSF added.
