China sees record exports, trade data sees unexpected surge in August

China's trade data soared unexpectedly in August with exports rising 25.6% in dollar terms to a record $294.3 billion, more than $10 billion above any previous month.

Imports also grew a mammoth 33.1% to $236 billion, also the highest level ever. This surge in exports has swelled China's trade surplus to $58.34 billion in August. 

So what is China exporting? As per data available the top three exports by value were  the usual suspects; electronics, high-tech products, and clothing and clothing accessories.
