Children among 60 people rescued from encounter site in J&K's Kulgam

Security forces rescued at least 60 people, including school children, after an encounter broke out in Jammu & Kashmir's Kulgam district. 

A video released by the Indian Army shows young boys getting out the security van. 

The police and Army had launched a cordon and search operation in the Ashmuji area of the south Kashmir district following information about the presence of militants there, a police official said.

According to a report by India Today, a Hizbul Mujahideen commander has been killed by the security forces while the encounter is still underway.

The report also said that two more militants are believed to be trapped at the encounter site.
