Former finance minister P Chidambaram on Wednesday raised questions on what he called changing goals of Goods and Services Tax regime. Chidambaram asked why GST was being changed in line with Congress' policies after being dubbed as a stupid idea by the BJP. He asked why single GST rate and the Congress' 18 per cent GST cap suddenly became a 'declared goals' for the finance ministry. Continuing his attack, he also criticised the sudden action on Chief Economic Advisor's RNR report to fix the standard rate at 15% which was not accepted earlier.
