British actor Ian Holm, famed for his roles in Hollywood blockbusters 'Lord Of The Rings' and 'Alien', has died at the age of 88. Holm, who suffered with a Parkinson's related illness, died peacefully on Friday morning in a hospital, surrounded by his family. Holm won a British Academy Film Award and gained a supporting-actor Oscar nomination for portraying pioneering athletics coach Sam Mussabini in the hit 1982 film 'Chariots of Fire'.
