After a slow start, Liverpool gathered steam in the 2nd half as Alcantara opened the scoring for the home side in the 52nd min. Mohammad Salah too got on the scoresheet immediately after with a clinical finish.
The Reds who were missing the experienced Virgil van Dijk and Jordan Henderson looked confident as the well earned rest of the duo didn't affect the outcome of the game.
