The centre has rushed a team of medical experts to Maharashtra after the first case of Zika virus was detected in the state.
The central team will monitor the virus situation in the state and ensure that the Health Ministry's 'Action Plan for Zika Management' is being implemented.
A 50-year-old woman patient from the Purandar area in Pune district was reported to be the first case of Zika virus on Sunday.
Further tests were conducted on residents of that village and those in the area, revealing 25 cases of chikungunya, three of dengue and the one Zika virus infection.
Kerala has so far reported 63 cases of Zika virus this year.
