A fisherman claimed to have seen a man, likely to be Cafe Coffee Day founder VG Siddhartha, jumping into the Netravathi river from the bridge on Monday evening. Fisherman Symond D'Souza told the police he heard a thud-like sound in the river and as he turned, he saw a man in the water struggling to float but drowned by the time he could reach the spot. The police said the D'Souza saw jumping off the bridge's pillar number 8 and the man was likely to be Siddhartha. The CCD founder’s driver had informed police that his employer was missing from the same spot.
