A Gujarat court which acquitted all the 22 accused in the killing of gangster Sohrabuddin Shaikh and his associate noted in its ruling that the CBI had a pre-meditated theory and a script intended to implicate political leaders, including BJP’s current president Amit Shah, according to multiple media reports. In the around 350-page judgment, Special CBI Judge S J Sharma noted that the agency merely did what was required to reach that goal rather than conducting an investigation in accordance with law. The CBI claimed that Sohrabuddin was shown to have been killed in a staged encounter.
