The CBI has named middleman Christian Michel in its supplementary chargesheet in the AgustaWestland case. The chargesheet names 15 individuals, the British national, Michel, who was extradited to India from Dubai in December 2018 and is currently lodged in Delhi's Tihar Jail. The CBI has also sought sanction to prosecute former defence secretary Shashi Kant Sharma. The supplementary chargesheet focuses on the role of Christian Michel and details how he influenced bureaucrats to ensure the contract was awarded to AgustaWestland. It also details how he received and transferred the alleged kickbacks to government officials, reports said.
