Canada plans to ban single-use plastics by 2021

Canada plans to ban single-use plastics as early as 2021, in order to reduce ocean waste. While Canada is yet to decide which items will be on the banned list, but plastic water bottles, plastic bags and straws could be the target. Prime Minister Justin Trudeau said his government was inspired by the legislation passed by the European Union in May last year.
