Bombay High Court hearing PILs on the legality of toll collections  has proposed to direct the Comptroller and Auditor General (CAG) to conduct a thorough investigation into the issue of toll collection at the Mumbai-Pune Expressway.

The court observed that it was difficult to believe that project cost recoverable in 2004 was yet to be recovered.

In a previous hearing the bench had asked the Maharashtra State Road Development Corporation to inform how long people have to pay toll on this road.
