Zomato's CEO, Deepinder Goyal, discussed the company's recruitment strategy in a recent interview. He mentioned that Zomato doesn't typically hire people actively looking for jobs. Instead, they seek out talented individuals and work on them, especially for mid to senior-level positions.

Zomato, launched in 2010, connects customers, restaurant partners, and delivery partners through its technology platform. It offers services like restaurant discovery, reviews, food delivery, table reservations, and payment solutions.

''The GenZ workforce, noting their intelligence and impatience, emphasizing the need for patience in the workplace'' Goyal said in a conversation with YouTuber Ranveer Allahbadia on his show, The Ranveer Show.

Regarding hiring, Goyal mentioned the preference for internal growth, especially since the company has employees with several years of experience. Hiring from outside can be time-consuming and may not always align with the company's needs.

Zomato recently achieved profitability for the first time in Q1 FY24, reporting a profit after tax of Rs 2 crore, a significant improvement from the previous year's loss of Rs 186 crore. Their revenue from operations in the same quarter increased by nearly 71% year-on-year to reach Rs 2,416 crore
