US Fed meeting will set the table for 2023; Raise rates again?

Investors are bracing for a week of swings in U.S. stocks ahead of key inflation data, the Federal Reserve's last policy meeting of 2022 and the final monthly options expiration of the year.

According to experts, Fed is widely expected to raise rates by 50 basis points on Wednesday at its last meeting of 2022, a step down from the 75 basis points hike in last few meetings.

Ahead of the Fed decision, all eyes are also on the United State's consumer price index report for November. Economists expect core annual inflation to ease to 6.1 percent in November, compared to rise of 6.3 percent in the previous month.

US markets ended positive on Monday ahead of Federal Reserve's meeting which begins today. Dow 30 ended at 34,005, up 528.58 points or 1.58 per cent while S&P 500 closed at 3,990.56, up 56.18 points or 1.43 per cent. Nasdaq Composite 11,143.70, down 139.12 or 1.26 per cent.
