Uber will lay off 200 workers from its recruitment section as part of a layoff push

Uber announced that 200 employees in its recruitment business would be let go as part of efforts to cut expenses and maintain a flat headcount throughout the year, Uber did not specifically mention any region, according to a Reuters story. 

The most recent round of layoff at Uber accounts for 35% of Uber's recruiting crew according to The Wall Street Journal.

Earlier also Uber reduced its workforce by 17% at the onset of the pandemic in mid-2020

Uber announced in May that it was on track to achieve operating income profitability this year and that it was maintaining a flat workforce following a sequential decline in headcount in the March quarter, as reported by Reuters.
