Ride-hailing giant Uber announced a significant milestone as it completed a decade of operations in India, revealing that drivers have collectively earned an impressive ₹50,000 crore through its platform since 2013.

Highlighting the magnitude of this achievement, Uber drivers covered a staggering distance of 3,300 crore kilometers during this period, equivalent to embarking on a journey from Earth to the Moon approximately 86,000 times, according to a recent company statement.

Commending India's dynamic demographic landscape and rapidly expanding digital economy, Prabhjeet Singh, President of Uber India and South Asia, expressed enthusiasm for the future. He affirmed the company's commitment to playing a pivotal role in propelling India towards its envisioned technological transformation.

In a press release commemorating this milestone, Uber underscored that it has facilitated 300 crore trips across India. The release stated, "Over the last 10 years in India... over ₹50,000 crore - that is the amount of money drivers have earned through the Uber platform since 2013."

Further elaborating on their impact, the release revealed, "30 lakh - that is the number of drivers who have earned via the Uber app as a driver partner." What began in a handful of cities has now expanded to encompass a network spanning over 125 cities nationwide, enabling millions to secure a ride within moments and empowering more than 8,00,000 drivers with a sustainable income.
