Swiggy Fined ₹35,000 for Inflating Delivery Distance – What Happened?

Swiggy just got fined for overcharging its customer. Yes, you heard that right.

The food delivery giant has been ordered to pay 35,000 rupees in penalties to a customer in Hyderabad.

This after he proved the app artificially inflated the distance to charge a higher delivery fee!.

Emmadi Suresh Babu, a Swiggy One member, filed a complaint after noticing. Swiggy had increased the distance from the restaurant by almost 5 km, costing him extra.

Using Google Maps screenshots, he convinced the consumer court of Swiggy's unfair practices.

Now, Swiggy has been fined and has 45 days to pay up.
