In response to rising demand, Range Rover will commence production of its flagship Range Rover and Range Rover Sport models in India.
This marks the first time these luxury SUVs will be manufactured outside the UK and highlights India's increasing significance as a key market for the brand.
Till now the two models were only produced in Jaguar Land Rover's Solihull plant in the UK and then exported to around 121 markets globally, including India.
With enhanced localisation, the Marquee British brand aims to make the two products better in terms of pricing to cater to a larger set of customers in India.
The price of two models is set to come down in the range of 18-22 per cent with the local production.
Tata Group Chairman N Chandrasekaran lauded Tata Sons Chairman Emeritus Ratan Tata for bringing the JLR brand to the Tata family 15 years ago.

Jaguar Land Rover, Range Rover's parent company, will leverage its existing facility in Pune to produce the vehicles. This strategic move follows a remarkable 160% increase in Range Rover retail sales in India during the current fiscal year.
Local production aims to substantially reduce wait times ans well as the cost for Indian customers. The introduction of Made in India Range Rovers is anticipated to make these vehicles more accessible to customers than ever before.
