New York State files suit against PepsiCo, citing plastic pollution along the Buffalo River that harms the water and wildlife.

The lawsuit identifies PepsiCo as the primary contributor to this issue, with over 17% of identified plastic waste traced back to the company.

According to New York state, PepsiCo manufactures, produces, and packages at least 85 beverage brands and 25 snack food brands that predominantly come in single-use plastic containers. Pepsi said in a statement that it was "serious about plastic reduction and effective recycling".
