A video on social media allegedly showed a group of PayTm employees setting ablaze PhonePe QR codes in Greater Noida. The Walmart-backed digital payment company approached the local police to take immediate action against the vandalism.

Moneycontrol reports quoting a PhonePe spokesperson that three employees of Softbank-backed Paytm in the video were identified, including a Paytm Area Sales Manager (ASM) and two ex-PhonePe employees who now work for PayTm.  Paytm alleged that the matter was ‘between PhonePe and its ex-employees.

Paytm’s allegations, PhonePe chief executive officer (CEO) Sameer Nigam took to Twitter to vent his anger.

“Worth mentioning that this ‘ex’ employee of PhonePe works for Paytm now, and there are 10 other people in the video burning @PhonePe QR codes in broad daylight. Anyways, let the police investigate the matter and justice prevail…”, tweeted Nigam.
