McDonald's, one of the biggest fast-food chains in the world, will briefly shut all of its US offices this week as it gets ready to tell its corporate employees about a new round of layoffs. The Wall Street Journal reported.

Last week, the company informed its US employees via email that they could now work remotely from Monday through Wednesday. McDonald's made the choice so that it could virtually inform people of the layoffs. The number of workers who will be let go is unknown.

McDonald's wrote in the mail: "During the week of April 3, we will communicate key decisions related to roles and staffing levels across the organisation." as per the report by WSJ.

By Wednesday, it is anticipated that the layoffs will be revealed.
