The iPhone 16 is illegal in Indonesia! Sounds unbelievable? It’s true.

Indonesia has declared the latest iPhone series illegal and warned its citizens against purchasing it abroad.

The Indonesian government has not issued the IMEI certification required for iPhone 16 devices and has asked citizens to report any use of the device within the country.

The ban stems from a dispute between the Indonesian government and the American tech giant over unmet investment commitments.

Indonesia has stated that Apple’s iPhone 16 cannot be sold in the country until the company fulfils its investment obligations.
